Print residency at Gravity Press (Mass. USA), public one-day printing event at UQTR, 2017
En chair et en bois | Of flesh and of wood
This project was created around the residency that took place at Gravity Press in North Adams, Mass.
En chair et en bois is a cross-institutional project that takes place within the context of la Biennale internationale d’estampe contemporaine de Trois-Rivières. The high-profile, international scope of the biennale offered a unique opportunity for both student participants and Concordia University.
Six fine arts undergraduate students from Montréal’s Concordia University undertook this contemporary printmaking residency and live-printing event, under the guidance of their professor, Bonnie Baxter. The printing event was held in collaboration with 6 students from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, led by professor Mylene Gervais.

Le projet “En chair et en bois” est un travail collaboratif d’impression d’estampes au rouleau compresseur en plusieurs étapes, initié par Mylène Gervais, artiste et professeur à l’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières et Bonnie Baxter, artiste et professeur de l’Université Concordia à Montréal et la Biennale internationale d’estampe contemporaine de Trois-Rivières.
Les travaux des étudiants de l’Université Concordia à Montréal et de l’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, sur le thème “En chair et en bois”, ont été imprimés une première fois à la Gravity Press (Mass.,USA).
Ils furent ensuite présentés au sein de l’exposition “En chair et en bois” (Gravity Press) à l’espace Jeanne-Vanasse, au Cégep de Trois-Rivières, du 18 juin au 15 septembre.
