C’est avec un immense plaisir que je vous invite à la dernière semaine de projection du Patch Trilogy. Du début à la fin, ce projet fut l’aventure d’une vie; un cadeau à mon âme que j’espère pouvoir partager avec autant de gens que possible. The Patch (son territoire, sa flore, sa faune et la communauté qui l’habite) m’a donné un moyen d’accueillir, de participer, de soutenir et d’être soutenue moi-même, par l’incroyable créativité et ingéniosité m’entourant.

Celui-ci m’a permis de nourrir corps et esprits. Il m’a offert de l’espoir et une raison d’être.

La famille et les proches sont invités pour un après-midi au musée, à partager des grignotines et rafraîchissements, et découvrir à leur guise l’installation immersive 360° du Patch Trilogy.

Books I-II-III en version intégrale, avec 2 entractes de 20 min
Présenté une fois par jour entre 12h30 et 15h45

(Des casques de réalité virtuelle (RV) seront disponibles pour visionner les
trois livres)

Nous servirons des rafraîchissements et du maïs soufflé, adoptant la tradition des célébrations païennes soulignant le passage des saisons avec des offrandes de semences et graines à l’approche du solstice de l’hiver. Les convives pourront repartir avec une “bombe de semences” (boule de semences et compost) pour mener une guérilla verte afin d’encourager de nouvelles pousses pour le printemps prochain.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the final week’s screenings of The Patch Trilogy. From start to finish this project has been the journey of my life time, a gift to my soul which I wish to share with as many others as possible. The Patch (its land, its flora and fauna, and the community which occupies it) has given me a way to embrace, participate in, to support and be supported, by the amazing creativity and ingenuity around me. It has allowed me to nurture bodies and spirits. It has provided me with hope and purpose. Family and friends are invited to an afternoon at the museum, sharing food and drink while watching as much, or just a bite, of the 360° immersive installation, The Patch Trilogy as desired.

Books I-II-III shown in their entirety, with 2 intermissions of 20 minutes each
One screening per day, between 12:30 pm and 3:45 pm
(VR headsets will also be available to view the different books)

We will serve refreshments, drinks and popcorn (to embrace the pagan ceremonial use of corn, grains and seeds during their celebrations of the winter solstice).

Guests will be offered green guerrilla seed “bombs” (preserved balls of seeds and compost) to take home so that they can help to spread new growth in the following spring.

The Patch Trilogy

The Patch Trilogy, un projet vidéographique immersif – vidéo 360°, réalités virtuelle et augmentée – qui ouvre un dialogue vers l’avenir. Débutant avec le projet EMPORIA, The Patch Trilogy s’est déployé de façon à inclure la création d’une réponse continue et stratifiée à notre crise socio-écologique. Par l’inclusion d’artistes et de participants de 4 à 76 ans, cette trilogie offre des perspectives de différentes cultures, langues et pays. Documenté dans un jardin de ressources communautaire ayant fonctionné de 2020-2022, The Patch Trilogy propose une série de fables inédites à la recherche de nouvelles voies à suivre pour les artistes et la société.

“The Patch Trilogy,” — an immersive 360° video, VR and AR presented in three parts — opens a dialogue to the future: a series of fables that look for a way forward for artists and society. The Patch Trilogy followed EMPORIA and “Le Philosophe et la Tomate”, and was developed in Baxter’s functional community resource garden. Her videographic experiments and philosophical exploration led to the realization of The Patch as platform for art actions that contribute to an international dialogue among artists that reconsiders the human-consumer relationship with nature. Between 2020 and 2022, Baxter invited, hosted, and documented a series of artist projects which she has rewoven to create the contemporary fables of “The Patch Trilogy,” a layered response to our socio-ecological crisis. Through the inclusion of artists and participants of ages 4-76, it offers perspectives from diverse ages, cultures, and countries.
